Title: Petroleum Bulk Storage Policy

 POLICY: 

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) regulate the storage and handling of oil and other Petroleum products, and specify appropriate procedures to implement in the event of an actual or suspected release of such products to the environment.  Columbia University strives to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, including those related to Petroleum management and tanks.

PURPOSE:  Compliance with NYDEC and EPA handling of oil and other petroleum products at Columbia University.

RESPONSIBILITY:  All parties involved in Petroleum Bulk Storage at Columbia University.
